What is JScholarship?

JScholarship is the Johns Hopkins University’s institutional repository. It preserves and makes available open access scholarship produced by Hopkins faculty, staff, students and researchers. Open access materials are freely available online, with minimal copyright and licensing restrictions.

The Sheridan Libraries manage JScholarship. If a publisher is concerned about an article version posted in JScholarship, the library will work with the publisher to rectify the situation.

What can I find in JScholarship?

JScholarship accepts all types of scholarly output, including electronic theses and dissertations, articles, author accepted manuscripts, serial publications, reports, white papers, posters, conference proceedings, recorded presentations, and more. In addition to preserving materials, the repository also makes them discoverable by search engines, including Google and Google Scholar.

Does JScholarship provide DOIs?

JScholarship does not create DOIs, but it does provide links to articles via Handle URLs. These are stable links that provide consistent access to materials and can be used in references and citations. Every entry automatically generates a handle.

How do I submit materials?

To submit electronic theses and dissertations for graduation, consult the ETD requirements.

Articles and all other materials can be submitted free of charge via the PASS portal, or by contacting the Digital Repositories Manager.
