Students can register for an eCard or a standard library card with the Enoch Pratt Free Library, which has locations throughout Baltimore. Getting a card will let you access Pratt's digital and physical collections, such as:

  • Digital and streaming media including Maryland's Digital eLibrary, Hoopla Digital, and PressReader (an app to find current issues of over 7,000 newspapers and magazines, including the Baltimore Sun)
  • Books and other physical collections including access to books, eBooks, audio books, movies, and music
  • Digital Maryland, a collaborative and statewide preservation program that you can search and explore to find historical and cultural documents, images, audios, and videos that record Maryland's history
  • State and federal government documents provide over 17,000 state government publications as well as access to over 800,000 federal documents
  • Research databases can be used to research family history, read current newspapers or more. A Pratt Library card is required to use many of these databases

Passport services:

  • Apply for a passport or get your passport photo taken
  • Requires an appointment from the Enoch Pratt Free Library Passport Office at (410) 396-5460

Social worker in the Library:

  • Reach out to a social worker for assistance with access to public assistance (e.g. food stamps, medical, etc.), crisis services, or connecting to community resources
  • Drop-in hours are available at select locations Monday through Saturday (hours vary). You can also e-mail or call (443) 418-3873 Monday through Friday for assistance

Lawyer in the Library:

  • Financially eligible individuals can receive free one-on-one legal advice from Maryland Legal Aid lawyers at select branches (hours vary)
  • You can e-mail or call (443) 451-2805 for assistance. Please include your name and legal issue in your e-mail or voicemail and your message will be responded to within 48 hours
