Ask A Librarian: DC Library
Harvard Case Study access
Answer
Harvard licenses prevent JH Libraries from posting online or holding print copies of case studies sold by Harvard.
For faculty using case studies in class, the solution is Harvard Case Study Course Packs:
- First, Hopkins faculty members should create HBS Educator accounts at https://hbsp.harvard.edu/registration/educator/. These give access to Teaching Notes (guides to teaching with course materials), full-text copies of cases, articles, and simulations, as well as course planning tools.
- Once a faculty member has an account, they can set up a “course pack” for the assigned case(s). Harvard provides a customized “pack” link that can be posted in the course Canvas site. That link leads students to the set of specific cases, which they can purchase with discounted pricing.
- See https://case.hks.harvard.edu/educator-access/
