If you need to request archives or manuscripts collections, please contact Special Collections staff directly with the name of the collection and the desired boxes.  Staff are happy to help you out if you are experiencing problems determining which boxes from a collection you need.

Please note that Hopkins affiliates can request most Special Collections books housed at the LSC by clicking on the blue "request" button in the library catalog. If the “request” button does not work (or if you are not a JHU affiliate and would like to view a book), contact Special Collections or email rarebooks@lists.johnshopkins.edu.  Archives and manuscripts materials will need to be requested by a staff member, so feel free to call us at 410-516-8348 or email us at archives@lists.johnshopkins.edu .

Books and archives/manuscript material will normally arrive within 48 hours (two business days) of initial request. If you needs lots of  Special Collection sstuff from the LSC, the material will arrive over several days.
