Borrow Direct is the best way to get a book that is checked out. JH Libraries do not recall books that are checked out, except in the rare case that a checked out book is required for course reserves.

JHU is part of a consortium, consisting of the Ivy League, Duke, Chicago, MIT, and Stanford, whose members lend books to one another with quick turnaround times.

You can request the item directly in Catalyst, or you can search the Borrow Direct catalog. Both methods will require you to log in with your JHED to place the request.
